Model Railroad Layout Design

You do not have to be a construction customer in order to have me design a layout for you. Layout designs are available as a stand alone service. Completed design packages consist of an 11"x17", color, CAD (computer aided design) track plan along with a booklet of back up notes, dimensions, commentary, and specifications. As a full time layout builder, I'm uniquely positioned to help you come up with a design that is not only attractive but is also straightforward to build.

Together I'll help you come up with a design that:

• CONTAINS OPEN, UN-CONGESTED, AESTHETICALLY PLEASING SCENES
• INVOLVES A PLAUSIBLE THEME
• IS STRAIGHTFORWARD TO BUILD
• IS INTERESTING TO OPERATE
• HOLDS YOUR INTEREST FOR THE LONG TERM

The design process starts with a basic questionnaire supplemented by further information gathering via email, phone, and mail. From that point I'll work with you and move the design from basic concept to finished packaged.

All design packages contain a section of helpful construction tips to guide you through key areas of the building process.

As part of the design package I offer follow up support once you start construction of your layout.

Design Costs

Designs for the most common sized projects (HO scale, single deck) generally fall into the price ranges listed below:

• Typical 12'x12' Bedroom: $1200
• Half Basement (20'x20'): $1600
• Full Basement (30'x60'): $2500

A more precise price quote will gladly be furnished upon request.

Note: All design contracts must be pre-paid prior to the commencement of work.
