Piedmont and Allegheny (Proto-freelanced, HO scale, 24’ x 11’)

The Piedmont and Allegheny is a proto-freelanced theme set in the Shenandoah Valley in the 1950’s.  Highly detailed scenery featuring seldom modeled winter vegetation is its signature feature. Rock outcrops along the right-of-way were meticulously handcrafted right down to the spall cascading down the slopes. Streams were cast in resin and feature fully detailed creek bottoms and shorelines as well as rapids and whitecaps. The forest floors were represented by actual dried leaves and tree litter.  Evergreens were individually built, tree by tree, and each deciduous tree was individually custom painted.
